The trip started and ended at Kodiak Island, Alaska.  While on Kodiak we explored the island via private boat and car including Fort Abercrombie State Historical ark, St. Paul Harbor and a salmon hatchery.  A float plane transferred us from Kodiak to Katmai National Park.  Staying on the M/V Kittiwake, we took multiple shore excursions daily in search of grizzly bears.  The mother with her spring cub was the highlight of the trip as we visited with her on three separation occasions.  We also came across a BBC group making a film on the grizzly bears.  Saw my first puffins but never did a good photo (they are really fast).
